The steering of S/Y Tossan takes place at the center of the deck using a tiller. The tiller is connected to rudders in the aft of each hull via a set of joints and runs smoothly. The rudders are designed to be folding so they can be out of the water when for example beaching takes place. This requires some mounting but change only takes a few minutes.
The autopilot Raymarine ST2000+ motor and controller unit is mounted near the tiller arm in a protected compartment. A remote control to the Raymarine autopilot is also available.
