Sailing and living on the ocean requires a security mindset. This has been implemented also on S/Y Tossan to prevent and protect in case of fire, evacuation, man overboard etc.
Equipment
- AIS: True Heading CTRX Graphene+
- Life raft: Plastimo Transocean 4 ISO 9650, a four person life raft
- Safety vests: Baltic Legend Harness SLA inflatable life vests x 2, and Baltic Offshore 70-90 kg conventional life vest x 2.
- Sunridge Normark floating overall 50
- Personal Life Beacon: Ocean Signal PLB1
- Exposure OLAS Tag, for two people
- Flares: Hansson Pyrotech Ikaros IOR-RORC Distress Signal Kit
- Fire extinguisher: 2kg ABC dry powder. One in each hull.
- Fire alarms mounted in the ceilings of each hull, plus fire blanket in kitchen/galley.
- Escape hatches in each hull, placed in the living room or tool shop area in front of the mast. Escape hatches are used to evacuate the boat if catamaran is turned upside down.
- Safety box. For important personal belongings or equipment a safety box is installed in the yacht, operated with both keys and PIN code.
